Two years ago, we were named “Hiking Community of the Year.”

Our selection of hiking trails has continued to grow ever since.

We recently updated no fewer than 32 hiking trails on our website. Short, long, through sand, nature, or past historic sites: there’s something for everyone. Each one comes with a map or GPX file to help you stay on the right path.

Cultuurhuis De Scharbiellie - Kasteelstraat, De Panne

In November 1943, fishing vessel N141 “De Zee” disappeared in the North Sea after striking a German sea mine. The crew was never found. The great-grandfather of artist Johan Tahon also remains forever beneath the surface of the water, in the slow breath of the sea.

The night market takes place on the Zeedijk and Leopold I Esplanade in De Panne.

Almost every day, you can join one of the guides who will show you around De Panne.

You’ll hear stories from the past and present—about World War I, nature, the history of water, and much more.

Participation is free, but registration is required.
